Kajabi vs Kartra : (2020) In Depth Comparison

If you are looking for an all-in-one marketing tool, you might have heard of both Kajabi and Kartra.

Kajabi and Kartra are one of the most common platforms when it comes to new users switching to an all-one marketing platform.

I have been a marketing tech expert for the last 3 years and having worked with several clients to help them set up their sales funnels, and course backends, I have extensively used both Kajabi and Kartra.

If you are unsure of which platform to use, this blog post will help guide your decision.

Kajabi vs Kartra features

Both Kajabi and Kartra have very similar features.

Having said that, I believe that the Kajabi landing page builder and membership platform is much better as compared to that of Kartra.

Kajabi has an added feature that you can use to set up your blog.

Kajabi also provides you with the ability to build a community of your paid users, which helps especially if you are considering a Facebook groups alternative.

Kartra has additional features for help desk and calendar scheduling.

I have used the calendar scheduling feature and I truly believe the free Acuity scheduling plan works way better.

Kajabi Pricing vs Kartra Pricing

Kajabi starts at $149/ month for the basic plan (20% discount on annual billing)

The growth plan is $199/month and the pro plan is $399/month.

The basic plan is limited in terms of the number of products, users, and does not include some advanced features such as advanced automations and the ability to set up an affiliate program for your product.

The growth plan is ideal for most businesses since the growth plan lets you build 15 products, unlimited landing pages, and also gives you the ability to set up an affiliate program.

The Kajabi growth plan also lets you send unlimited emails, and has the added feature for advanced email automations.

Kartra costs $99/month for the starter plan ( $79/month when paid annually).

The starter plan includes the ability to set up an affiliate program, as well as the ability to sell up to 20 products.

The Kartra silver plan which includes unlimited pages, unlimited emails, unlimited products and unlimited membership sites costs $199/month ( $149/month when paid annually).

Kajabi vs Kartra pricing: My Recommendation

If cost is not a huge deterrent, I would recommend getting on the Kajabi annual growth plan which would cost you $159/ month.

A lot of businesses tend to go for the more affordable option and then end up having to switch platforms later on. In most cases, it results in a mess.

Free trial

Kartra offers a free 14-day trial for $1. You can check it out here.

Kajabi offers a free 28-day trial for free. 28 days is enough time for you to use the platform and decide whether it is the right platform for your business.

You can get started with the free Kajabi 28-day trial today.

Ease of use for creator : Kajabi vs Kartra

Kajabi has a very easy to use interface, and their 28 day challenge really helps to get started with using the platform.

The dashboard is pretty self-explanatory and guides you through the process of building your first product, offer, landing page and website.

The Kartra dashboard is a little complicated, in the sense that sometimes all the different integrations between a funnel, product and email marketing can seem confusing.

Ease of use for students

I am enrolled in multiple courses hosted on both Kajabi and Kartra.

Kajabi has a very user-friendly dashboard when it comes to using the platform as a student.

Kartra is a little more complicated but not too bad.

Mobile Friendliness : Kajabi vs Kartra

Kajabi has a mobile app which is very easy to navigate, and you can access all your courses on Kajabi from one app. This makes it easy for your students to access course content on the go.

The Kartra interface is not very mobile-friendly, and it is difficult to watch course content on the phone.

Customer Support: Kajabi vs Kartra

Kajabi has amazing customer support.

When you join the platform, they mail you a welcome kit to help you get started.

They also have the Kajabi Hero program where they send you rewards when you hit business milestones.

It all starts when you hit that first $1k in your business using Kajabi.

They also have a great affiliate program ( only for users of the platform).

You get paid 30% lifetime recurring commissions for every user that signs up with your affiliate link.

I am not a huge fan of Kartra customer support.

You can see it in the way they responded ( or did not respond) to the BLM movement.

Why do most blogs recommend Kartra?

I get asked this question often, and the answer to this is, Kajabi does not let you get paid as an affiliate if you are not a customer.

Which means, although you can promote Clickfunnels, Kartra, Groovefunnels and all those platforms without ever using the platform, you cannot promote Kajabi if you don’t use the platform.

Which brings me back to the authenticity of the platform. Kajabi was to build a community of users who trust them, and by not allowing non-customers to promote Kajabi, the platform makes sure all reviews on the internet are by the people who actually use the platform.

Kajabi vs Kartra : My Recommendation

As a marketing tech expert, I have experimented with, and used several marketing platforms.

I have also helped several clients build funnels and course backend platforms.

Although Kajabi is more expensive than most marketing tools out there, in my opinion it is a very robust platform with a great community and amazing customer support.

The Kajabi sales funnel builder and membership platform are worth the cost.

If you are looking for a more sophisticated email system, I would recommend integrating Kajabi with Activecampaign, but if you are just getting started or launching your first course, Kajabi is the only platform you need.

If you are bootstrapping your business and want a more affordable platform, check out my favorite Kajabi alternative.

Which marketing tool do you use in your business? I would love to know in the comments section.
